Types of Implant-Retained Dentures

There are two primary types of implant-retained dentures. Bar-retained dentures involve placing between two and five implants in your jawbone and attaching them to a thin, curved, metal bar. The dentures fit on top of the bar and use attachment fixtures to clip them in place securely. Ball-retained dentures, also known as stud-attachment dentures, involve each implant holding a ball-shaped, metal attachment that fits into another attachment on your dentures, holding them securely in place.
